Privacy Policy

Article 1 What is processed, and why

• Browsing needs no sign-up, and the site never asks who you are. Nothing recorded while you browse is linked to your name or email address.
• Visit statistics (Google Analytics, described below): which pages are viewed, how visitors arrive, and approximate location, device and browser, tied to a random identifier stored in a cookie — used only to see which pages are read and to improve the site. You can turn this off for your browser with the switch on this page. Legal basis: Article 15(1)6 of the Personal Information Protection Act (the operator’s legitimate interest in understanding how the site is used), which outweighs your rights here because no identifying details are collected and you can turn it off at any time.
• If you email us, we receive your address and what you wrote, and use them only to reply.
• Delivering any website involves the visitor's IP address. Here it is processed by the services listed below, for delivery and security; we never see or store it ourselves. Google Analytics also uses it to estimate an approximate location.

Article 2 What loads from other services

• Google Maps: map pages load the Google Maps JavaScript API from maps.googleapis.com and maps.gstatic.com, and the map’s own interface pulls its lettering and icons from Google Fonts at fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com. Google receives your IP address and request details, under Google’s own privacy policy. This site’s own text is served from this site, not from Google. Pages that do not show a map load nothing from Google.
• Images: all photos are copied to this site’s own servers, so viewing a page does not contact any image host.
• Analytics: Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts page views without cookies, without fingerprinting, and without following you to other sites. It records aggregate details such as page, referrer, country, and browser. It sets nothing on your device and cannot identify you.
• Visit statistics: Google Analytics 4 (Google LLC), on this site’s own address only (powerspot.lumen-tree.com). After a page has finished loading, a script from www.googletagmanager.com sends visit details, from then until you leave the page, to Google’s collection servers (google-analytics.com, analytics.google.com): the page address and title (on the map the address includes any words typed into its search box, so please do not type personal details there), the referring page, approximate location (country, region and city, which Google derives from your IP address — Google states that Google Analytics 4 does not log or store the IP address itself), device type, operating system, browser, screen size and language, the times of visits, the interactions Google Analytics measures automatically (which may include scrolling and clicks on links that leave the site), and a random identifier kept in the _ga cookies. Google signals and ad personalisation are switched off, the site sends no user ID and adds no name or account detail, and the data is not used for advertising.

Article 3 How long anything is kept

Enquiry email is kept only until the matter is settled, then deleted without undue delay — the address and the message both. In Google Analytics, visit data linked to the random identifier is deleted automatically 14 months after it was collected; aggregate reports that carry no identifier may be kept longer. Nothing else is retained: the site keeps no visitor records of its own, and Cloudflare Web Analytics keeps only aggregate counts that cannot be traced back to a person.

Article 4 Provision to third parties

None. No personal information is sold, shared, or provided to any third party.

Article 5 Processing entrusted to other companies

Serving the site is entrusted to Cloudflare, Inc. (hosting and delivery); pages with a map additionally use Google LLC (Google Maps), and visit statistics are entrusted to Google LLC (Google Analytics). Each processes request data under its own terms — the details, including where that data goes, are in the next section.

Article 6 Transfers outside Korea

Both companies above are based in the United States, so viewing this site sends request data abroad. For each, this section states what is transferred, to which country, when and how, to whom, for what purpose and how long, and how to refuse.

• Cloudflare, Inc. (United States; www.cloudflare.com; privacy contact: privacy@cloudflare.com) — your IP address and request details are sent over the network the moment any page loads and are processed at its global edge locations to deliver and secure the site. They are processed for as long as that purpose requires; the specific retention periods are published in Cloudflare's own privacy policy. This transfer is what makes the site reachable at all.
• Google LLC (United States; policies.google.com, which carries Google's privacy contact routes) — your IP address and request details are sent over the network when a page with a map loads and are used to provide the map, for as long as that purpose requires; the specific retention periods are published in Google's own privacy policy. Pages without a map send nothing to Google.
• Google LLC — Google Analytics (United States; policies.google.com) — the visit details listed above are sent over the network from when each page on powerspot.lumen-tree.com finishes loading until you leave it, and are used to produce this site’s visit statistics. Data linked to the identifier is deleted automatically 14 months after it was collected; aggregate reports without an identifier may be kept longer. To refuse: turn visit statistics off for this browser with the switch on this page, or block www.googletagmanager.com and google-analytics.com with your browser’s tracking protection or a content-blocking extension. Nothing else about the site changes.

All of these transfers are made under Article 28-8(1)3 of the Personal Information Protection Act — entrustment and storage necessary to provide the service you asked for — and the particulars are published here, in this policy, as subparagraph (a) of that provision allows.

To refuse: no application or procedure is needed — the methods below are the whole of it. The Cloudflare transfer can only be avoided by not using the site, since every page is delivered through it. The Google Maps transfer is avoided by not opening map pages — every place and list is fully readable without them. The Google Analytics transfer is refused with the switch on this page or by blocking it in your browser, as described above.

Article 7 Your location, if you ask for it

When you open the map, the browser asks for location permission so the view can start near you; the "Near me" button uses the same permission. Your coordinates are read once, used on your own device to sort the list by distance, centre the map on you and draw a dot showing where you are, and then discarded — they are never sent to us or anyone else, never saved, and never added to the page address, so a link you share cannot carry them. If you decline, the map picks its opening view from the country your connection comes from (derived from the IP address, not stored) and nothing else changes.

Article 8 Cookies and what is stored on your device

• psm_locale_banner — set for one year when you dismiss or follow the language suggestion, so it does not reappear. It contains a flag, nothing else.
• psm_locale_auto — set for one year when the front page sends you to your browser's language, so that happens only once and never overrides a language you chose yourself.
• Places you Save are kept in your browser's local storage on that device only (psm:saved). They are never sent anywhere, and clearing your browser data removes them.
• _ga and _ga_XNRWY5SREM — set by Google Analytics on this site’s own address only (powerspot.lumen-tree.com; not shared with other LumenTree services) and kept for up to 2 years from your last visit. They hold a random identifier that tells one visit from another, and visit timestamps; never your name, email address or anything you type.
• psm:analytics — stored in this browser’s local storage only when you turn visit statistics off with the switch below, so Google Analytics stays off on this site in this browser. Turning statistics back on deletes it. Clearing this site’s data in your browser (cookies and site data) deletes it too, which turns statistics back on — use the switch again afterwards.

To refuse: block or delete cookies for this site in your browser settings. The site keeps working — the language suggestion may reappear and saved places become unavailable, and that is the whole consequence. Blocking cookies does not by itself stop visit statistics being sent; the switch below does that. No cookie here is used for advertising; the _ga identifier is sent only to Google Analytics, for this site’s statistics.

The switch for visit statistics (Google Analytics) in this browser. It applies to this browser on this device only, and your choice is kept in psm:analytics.

Article 9 Behavioural data

Visit statistics record which pages of this site are viewed, but only to measure the site as a whole. No behavioural data is collected, used or passed on for personalised advertising: Google signals and ad personalisation are switched off, the statistics are not linked to any advertising product, and nothing that names you is sent.

Article 10 Measures to keep personal information safe

• The less there is, the less there is to protect: there are no accounts, and nothing is collected beyond what this policy describes. Pages are served as static files, so the site itself keeps no database of visitor information; visit statistics are held in Google Analytics, as described above.
• Access to enquiry email is limited to those who need it to reply.
• All traffic uses HTTPS only, with unencrypted connections refused (HSTS).
• Once an enquiry is answered, the message is deleted without undue delay.

Article 11 Your rights

You can ask what we hold about you, and have it corrected or deleted. In practice, what we could hold is enquiry email, and Google Analytics visit statistics that are tied to a random cookie identifier rather than to a name — so we cannot pick out a person’s statistics from a name or address. On request we will confirm or delete enquiry email; for the statistics, deleting the _ga cookies or using the switch on this page means your future visits are no longer linked to past ones, and if you send us the identifier from your _ga cookie, we will delete the statistics linked to it in Google Analytics. Requests go to the address below and are answered without undue delay.

Article 12 Responsibility, complaints and access requests

LumenTree operates Power Spot Map and is responsible for personal information handled here. Questions, complaints, access requests under Article 35 of the Personal Information Protection Act, and any other request about your rights all go to the same place: contact-map@lumen-tree.com.

Article 14 Changes to this policy

Changes are made in public. Any change in actual practice — analytics, advertising — is reflected here in the same release that ships it, and the effective date above moves with it.
